Sakai Shukishi

Lord Sakai Shukishi (b. 661, Mutsu province) was a samurai lord sworn to Lord Yoshida Terumoto of the northern Mutsu province. Lord Yoshida leads the Mutsu rebels against the Empire, and Sakai was one of his highest ranking officers. Lord Sakai was defeated in a duel by Ishimaru Tetsuo in Mutsu in the fall of 721. He was known to be a skilled swordsman, who specialized in defensive techniques.
