Guilds of Wycklow

From GURPSworld Wiki

Membership in a guild allows Claim to Hospitality, allowing one to stay at the guild headquarters, or even in the home of fellow guild members. Large and widespread guilds, such as Stonemasons and Merchants guilds, will have headquarters in every town and city, and members in every village.

Some of the more notable guilds are listed below. This list is by no means complete.

Guild of Carpenters. Not a general carpentry guild but actually a guild of shipwrights and other nautical woodcrafters.

College of Bards. More people claim membership than actually pay their dues. No one is certain of the purpose of this guild.

Collegium Curatico. Healer's Guild. Responsible for the certification and examination of all magical healers, including clerical healing services. Look for the caduceus - don't trust any healer without it. Second oldest guild in Wycklow.

Steelsmiths Society. The most exclusive guild in Wycklow. Some steelsmiths cannot join this guild. You may not work steelcraft in Wycklow without belonging to this guild.

Stonemasons Fellowship. Third oldest and second largest guild inf Wycklow. Shares headquarters with the Merchant's Guild.

Merchant's Guild. The oldest and largest guild in Wycklow. Currently headquartered in the estate of the Gifted Merchant.

Metalsmiths Guild. Membership consists of all metalworkers other than steelworkers. Steelworkers unable to join the Steelsmiths Society may join this guild, but are not allowed to work steelcraft.

Fellowship of Wainwrights. Wagonmakers. "Don't buy the wagon if it doesn't say Wainwright."

Wheelwrights Assembly. Longtime rivalry with the Wainwrights often results in work stoppages and other situations where there are plenty of wagon wheels but few wagons.

Woodwrights Guild. A small guild of woodcarvers that splintered from the Guild of Carpenters.
