Escott Institute

The Escott Institute is the most prestigious center of learning and scientific studies in the Old Frontiers. Originally an economic institute, the school gradually branched out into other areas, particularly the various sciences. Currently the Institute's main focus is on xenology, planetology, and xenoarchaeology of planets in the Old Frontiers. The Escott Institue is based on the planet Pleroo, but has research facilities and additional campuses throughout the Old Frontiers sector.
The most acclaimed achievement of the Escott Institute in recent years is the publication of the 14-petabyte Escott Encyclopedia of Universal Knowledge, widely considered the most extensive source of general and scientific knowledge available in the Old Frontiers, outside of the archives of the planet Byte. A copy of the encyclopedia sells for $25,000, and gives +4 to any Research roll on anything to do with the Old Frontiers sector.
