The Caissa Chess Club was founded in 1945 by L. Ron Hubbard and Jack Parsons. It is not known how many members the two organizations share or if there is any connection beyond the superficial, nor is it known if the connection dates back to the origins of the chess club, though Hubbard and Parsons are known to be interested in magic and the occult.
