Bronte Ellison Sterling-Teague, American Grrl.

Bronte Ellison Sterling-Teague is an actress, dancer, gymnast, political activist, and social conscience for a generation of Americans. She is the daughter of Jackson Sterling-Teague, associate US Ambassador to Japan, and Gabriella Sterling-Teague, a well-known US socialite and environmental activist.

Bronte began her own media presence at the age of eight with her blog, Bronte's World, in which she chronicled her insights and experiences as the globetrotting daughter of a diplomat and activist. At the age of ten, several of Bronte's photographs from her travels were selected for a traveling exhibition sponsored by National Geographic. The exhibition visited over 32 cities around the world and received acclaim from a number of media outlets. She traveled extensively with her mother, visiting the Costa Rican rain forest and other eco-cultural landmarks, as well as participating in several environmental protests.

Bronte has maintained an interest in Japan since childhood, and was very excited when her father received a diplomatic assignment there. She speaks fluent Japanese with little trace of her distinct American accent and is familiar with Japanese culture. Her father jokingly refers to Bronte as his "junior cultural attaché" to friends and guests.

For her sixteenth birthday, Bronte received the gift of a Vespa 946 scooter from her father. She changes her hair color frequently, one of the many results of her weekly trips to the salon.
