Abe Sotatsu

Lord Abe Sotatsu, Defender of the North, is the head of the Abe Clan of northern Dewa. He is subordinate only to Governor Kiyohara Noburo. Lord Abe has served as Lord Kiyohara’s right-hand man in his frequent campaigns in the Mutsu province against the Emishi and various belligerent lords that have allied with them against the Imperial Court. In his role as the Defender of the North, Lord Abe is charged with overseeing defense from bandits, Ainu tribes, and possible Sillan raiders and spies. His notable subordinates include Itoh Kosho, Nakamura Reizo, and Uchida Seiho, the major landed lords of northern Dewa.
