Shirakami-Sanchi

The Shirakami-Sanchi is a forested, mountainous area that abuts northern Dewa. The area comprises about 500 square miles of rugged wilderness, with no agriculture or development. The area experiences harsh winters and mild summers, and is rife with wildlife, including bears and wolves. The only residents in the Shirakami-Sanchi are nomadic Ainu. The entire area is sacred to Shintoists, and is said to be the realm of the White God.
