Human Civilization is centered at the Tower of Light in the equatorial Pacific Ocean near the Kiribati Islands. The year is 2104. The threat of the Eggs in the solar system has been neutralized, and the Egg presence has been contained in a nearly 100 light-year radius from the the Sun. The human population on earth is estimated to be about 200,000, with 190,000 of those living on the Tower of Light.
