Second actor in two months leaps from Hollywood hotel

Theater actress Bethany Johansen took her life Thursday by leaping from the roof of the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. Johansen had recently received critical praise for her portrayal of Blanche Dubois in the Los Angeles Repertory Theater production of the Tennessee Williams play, A Streetcar Named Desire. The twenty-eight year old was originally from Topeka, Kansas.

Television actor leaps to death in Hollywood

Brian Jenkins, a 28-year old actor who had recently appeared as a suicidal accountant on the television drama Dragnet, leaped to his death in Hollywood yesterday. According to police, Jenkins was attending a party on the roof of the L'Homage Apartment building at 8440 Sunset Boulevard when he suddenly began shouting, then ran across the rooftop and off the edge of the building where he plunged to his death in the alley below.
