Elaine Baxter
Elaine Baxter was born to Harrison and Margaret Baxter on April 2nd, 1939. She didn't appear particularly exceptional. She was average in her studies, in sports, in her appearance. Elaine's parents were always busy with work, and at the age of 12 she found herself looking for attention. She ended up finding several older girls in an alley smoking cigarettes. Thinking nothing of it, she performed the "trick" she'd been practicing for months now, and pulled a cigarette out of thin air. The girls, thinking it a sideshow magic trick, loved it, and invited Elaine to join them. However, the girls quickly grew suspicious. Elaine always seemed to have useful little things on hand. A dime for a vending machine, a lighter, a baseball, a knife. Her parents, who were former government employees themselves, eventually caught wind of this strange occurrence and reported it immediately. The government enlisted her in their special training program (with her parent's consent, though against Elaine's own will).
Despite their best efforts, Elaine proved to be very willful. She always maintained a somewhat aggressive and rebellious personality. By 18, however, she became a fully trained agent, her ability lending well to investigating and attracting the supernatural. Very little is known about her time with the government, and speaking about it with her can often trigger her rage. It's known she proved herself well with a gun. It is also known that Elaine was partnered with Vince Wright. At 23, it was discovered that Elaine and Vince were engaging in a sexual relationship, however the official report states that she was too willful and lacked the strength of her fellow agents. Disgraced, she resumed her work as a paranormal hunter in order to uncover the secrets she once helped to hide and take down the government agency once and for all. Vince, who was not fired but sympathized, offered whatever intelligence he could without his betrayel being discovered. She was surprised when she was invited by Magdalena Carter to join the Promethean Foundation, but found their goals to be greatly in line with eachother, and thus accepted.
